These are watercolors I painted on 300 g A4 paper. They belong to Series 8 — there are 7 so far, but I plan to do 5 more with the remaining sheets from the same pad. I used drawings from the free Canva app, arranged them in my own way, and then painted them. It was something relaxing to do on weekends, after work, or on days when I just needed to disconnect, stop thinking, and simply relax my mind and connect with my soul.
If anyone is interested, these watercolors are for sale — this time they come with a photo frame included, so you can hang them or place them on your desk or a shelf as decoration.
They can serve as inspiration, or simply as something to contemplate, to rest your eyes, or to imagine magical and natural worlds.
📦 I only ship within Chile, unless you’re willing to cover international shipping costs, which may range from $40 to $50 USD or EUR.

I have always been a fan of notebooks, since I was a child I have loved them, I am fascinated by writing in my journals about my daily experiences, drawing, painting, I use them in my work to write down the binnacle of my experiments, in summary for me a notebook is essential and I have lots of them! I see one that catches my attention and I buy it, so when I saw that Domestika had a courses to make sketch books, I bought one immediately.
The course is taught by Maru Godas, it is called sketch book design and binding. It is very entertaining and educational, it delivers the information with great detail and the notebooks that it presents are divine, colorful and beautiful, they make you want to achieve the same as her and it also encourages you not to be afraid if something goes wrong or if your notebook does not work the way you expect. It’s not perfect, that’s what it’s about, making something your own, personalized, created by you, without limiting yourself because a cut didn’t turn out well or something didn’t stick so perfectly.
Now comes what was most difficult for me, following the instructions is very easy. The most difficult thing was getting the materials and cutting. In the end I decided to start with three notebooks at the same time, made with bond paper that is 80 g/m2 and therefore easier to cut. I bought 4 sheets and with that I made two notebooks measuring 13.5 x 21 cm and one measuring 19.5 x 26 cm. When cutting with the cardboard cutter, the margins were all crooked, when I bought a guillotine and a cutting surface, I achieved better results. Although as I say, I’m not good at cutting and I had already cut most of the sheets. I also bought sheets of 300 g/m2 Fabriano paper to make a sketch book and paint with watercolor, as presented in the course.
Gathering all the materials was not an easy task and I made a mistake with the purchase of some, glossy paper is not suitable for courtesy sheets and thinner paper is not suitable for lining the covers, it has to be 150 g/m2 cardboard, I bought Canson paper at the Academia bookstore in Viña del Mar and it worked very well for me. This is why I added a cover and back cover to two of the notebooks with digital abstract illustrations made by me, and I printed them on photography paper. The thin paper wrinkled a lot when gluing it and looked ugly, but with that I managed to cover the imperfections well and the covers turned out nice and original.
I added page markers with ribbons that I recycled from gifts, I made the most of things that I had saved for a long time and that I used to make the notebooks.
I couldn’t find the tarlatana, the bridles, binding cloth, corner pieces and the pressing clips. So I used a fabric that had a chiffon type to replace the tarlatana and a curtain sample fabric instead of the bridles. And to press I used cardboard and pressed the notebooks with many books on top and it worked well.
I bought most of the other materials online at the Color Animal bookstore and the National bookstore, although I bought the fabric at the latter, they did not send it to me in the order.
It was a long process because I only worked on weekends and it was very entertaining. I still need to finish my sketch book to paint with watercolor.
